X may be in breach of Australian privacy laws for using users' posts to train AI
X, formerly Twitter, may be in breach of Australian privacy laws as application's privacy settings automatically opt users in to allow their posts to be used to train artificial intelligence (AI) system. While X has not commented on the issue, its Safety team tweeted that users have an ability to control whether posts may be used to train Grok.
Earlier, technology firms Meta and Slack have also been criticised for alleged use of users data to train AI systems. Relevant media reports, with companies' comments, are linked below.
