Company Response

Zijin Mining/Commus' response

Recently, certain media outlets have published reports concerning our company’s treatment of workers, freedom of association and safety protections. Commus takes these reports extremely seriously and immediately launched a thorough verification. Our investigation shows that the content of these reports is seriously inconsistent with the facts. We hereby clarify as follows:

Commus offers competitive remuneration that exceeds the local industry average. We maintain a fair and transparent salary-review mechanism and provide comprehensive medical coverage.Since 2024 we have significantly increased education subsidies for employees’ children, further enhancing family welfare.

Commus is committed to safeguarding fundamental labour rights. We fully respect employees’ legal right to form and join trade unions voluntarily, and we engage in constructive dialogue with both internal and external unions. A consultative meeting with elected internal union representatives is held on the last Saturday of every month. A joint quarterly meeting with all internal and external unions reviews key labour-relations issues and tracks the implementation of agreed improvements. Employees are encouraged to participate in union activities, fostering a culture of solidarity and shared progress. On 1 May 2025 Commus and the unions jointly celebrated International Workers’ Day, strengthening employees’ sense of belonging and cohesion. Guided by the principle “Life first, safety always,”

Commus strictly complies with national laws and continuously strengthens health and safety management. All employees receive and are required to use standard-compliant personal protective equipment; the rule is “No PPE, no work.” Mandatory safety-training programmes ensure workers understand operational risks, safe practices and emergency procedures, building both awareness and risk-control capacity.

“Joint development and shared prosperity” remain our core values. We will continue to protect employees’ fundamental rights and maintain open, constructive dialogue with governments and all stakeholders to advance sustainable development for both the company and society.
