We invited Zonda Metals to comment on allegations that, on 11 December 2025, people demonstrated against the approval of the San Jorge copper project in Uspallata and the authorisation for the advancement of 27 mining projects in Malargüe by the Mendoza Legislature and the Mendoza Police violently repressed the protests and detained 13 people, including 2 journalistas. The company did not respond.
