The retaken tekoha Yvyju Avary, in Guaíra, western Paraná, was attacked by armed men perched on the back of an adapted lorry and four tractors. As well as shooting at the indigenous people of the Avá-Guarani village, the criminals sprayed pesticides over the community. A lorry ran over an indigenous man who was rushed to hospital in Guaíra. The alleged owner of the area overlapping the Indigenous Land beat an indigenous man with a stick, injuring him on the right side of the head. A community dog was killed. According to the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB), the attack was perpetrated by farmers.
