[DOC] Pure Iron Plant response regarding health problems allegedly linked to emissions from its factory in Armenia

Voir tous les tags
[Original company response in Russian; following summary of the response's key points provided by Business & Human Rights Resource Centre] Pure Iron Plant has been producing molybdenum for more than 15 years. We have not received a single complaint from the population. With regards to emissions, they meet pollution standards thanks to a system of three-stage gas purification, which is confirmed by a permit from the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia. Emissions go through 50 metre smokestacks, which ensure the necessary dispersion of hazardous substances – this has been confirmed by the appropriate agencies and by computer calculations. At the same time, our plant is working to introduce monitoring of the concentration of sulphurous anhydride in the area of human settlements.
