Myanmar: Four hundred garment workers employed fo six months or less allegedly dismissed without notice; incl. co. response

In March 2023, it was reported that 400 workers employed for six months or less at Fitex (Myanmar) Garment Manufacturing were dismissed without notice. Workers allege the factory fired the workers to avoid paying the Thingyan holiday pay. The workers did not receive severance pay, as this is entitled to those with 6 months - 1 year of experience.

In October 2023, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited New Yorker (for its ASIMU brand) to respond. It did not.
