Indigenous of the Parakanã people were the target of a shooting attack in the early hours of the morning inside the Apyterewa Indigenous Land in Pará. The Apyterewa Indigenous Land is one of eight within the scope of an action before the Federal Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the federal government must remove invaders who have been exploiting the site illegally.

The invaders are mostly ranchers who used the territory to raise illegal cattle. Organisations indicate that the meat was traded with large companies.
