"Korean language center closed for illegal recruitment,"

A Korean language center engaged in illegal recruitment has ceased operations following its closure by the Department of Migrant Workers.

The DMW, in a statement yesterday, said the Gyejeol Korean Language Learning Services, located in Quezon City, was found to be offering jobs as factory personnel and seasonal farm workers in South Korea “even without the required license to recruit workers for jobs overseas.”

Gyejeol’s modus operandi is to convince applicants to undergo Korean language training for P8,500, then offer them jobs for a processing fee of P60,000 to P80,000.
