The Speaker Series was named after Sir Geoffrey Chandler for 3 reasons:
1. Sir Geoffrey was a pioneer in the field of business & human rights, and a passionate advocate of the importance of human rights for the private sector.
2. He thought the most productive discussions came about when you brought a diverse audience into the same room – business people, NGOs, governments and others. That is the philosophy of the Speaker Series.
3. Sir Geoffrey did not want discussions about business & human rights to just reflect the status quo. He wanted substantive discussions that moved forward the debate – that is the purpose of the Speaker Series.
