Human Resources Assistant

We are looking for an HR Assistant to join our Operations team. The role will report to the HR Lead and will work closely with the Directors of Regional and International Programmes.

This is a varied role with the opportunity to get involved in a range of projects and key administrative work to ensure the success of the HR function and our Global Team. The HR Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Directors of Regional and International Programmes, ensuring effective communication, policy implementation, and human resource development strategies that are aligned with organisational objectives and regional needs.

  • Location: UK, Germany or Global South (Africa or Asia preferred)
  • Salary: GBP 26,000-29,000 per year (the range is aligned to London cost of living and will be adjusted down according to local cost of living)
  • Contract type: 1-year contract with possibility of extension; FT (35 hours per week)

The Human Resources Assistant will:

  • Work with the HR Lead to update HR policies and systems in line with our values and legislation.
  • Support with the preparation, renewal and filing of contracts, and ensure all employee/consultant records are up to
  • Work with recruiting managers to coordinate employee and consultant recruitment processes.
  • Organise job listings and interviews and support managers to provide a robust induction programme for appointees.
  • Coordinate onboarding and exit processes for employees and consultants, including exit interviews, equipment and file handovers, and turnover of organisational assets.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR Lead on performance management as needed.
  • Work with the Global Team Association members and the HR Lead to support our Global Team well-being strategies.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of learning solutions and professional development for individuals and teams.
  • Support Directors of Regional and International Programmes with HR-related needs and enquiries (e.g., aiding in scheduling meetings and helping to plan events or regular engagements).

Who are you/what you have?

  • An open-minded individual, with excellent interpersonal skills, and with the ability to work effectively in a diverse
  • 1-2 years’ experience within an HR capacity.
  • Excellent prioritization, organizational and time management skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Familiar with HR software and tools, ideally BambooHR.
  • Experience with basic tools for online & remote work such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Someone who is willing to roll their sleeves up and embed themselves within the team.
  • Discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information.
  • The ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.
