OrPower 22 (formally known as Menengai I Geothermal Power Station) is a 35-megawatt geothermal power plant located in the Menengai Geothermal Field in Nakuru County, Kenya. Originally developed under US-based Symbion Power, it was fully acquired in August 2023 by the Kaishan Group of China. The plant represents a $90 million to $92 million investment operating under a 20-year Build-Own-Operate (BOO) agreement, with Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) serving as the sole off-taker. Following its groundbreaking ceremony in October 2024, the plant completed construction and testing, leading to its commercial operations
