Accountability for technology companies in Africa

The technology industry is multifaceted and increasingly permeates our personal and professional lives. In Africa, technology plays an important role. Internet access helps facilitate essential rights, such as access to information. In certain situations, it provides opportunities for youth employment. Furthermore, the growing digitalisation in the continent has enabled the use of a variety of services which improve daily lives, such as food delivery services and digital taxis. However, human rights risks and abuses in the technology industry remain a major concern.
