Based on posts published on the social media platform X by the account @BRIChina2023 between January and February 2026, BHRC identified nine alleged labour rights violations linked to overseas projects involving Chinese companies. Eight of the cases occurred in Indonesia, and one in Laos.

BHRC reached out to Shandong Zhengtai Industrial Equipment Installation Co., Ltd., China National Machinery Industry Corporation (fully-owning parent of China Mechanical Industry Fifth Construction Corp.), China Minmetals, Shenzhen CF Marine and Tsingshan Group for response. They did not respond.
