Guinea's President Alpha Condé has won a controversial third term in office. The electoral commission said Alpha Conde had taken 59.5% of the vote and his opponent, Cellou Dalein Diallo won 33.5% of the ballots. But the victory still requires confirmation by the Constitutional Court. Cellou Dalein Diallo said he will contest the results, alleging large-scale fraud. Tensions are high in capital Conakry and in the rest of the country as supporters of opposition candidate Cellou Dalein Diallo rejected the results and continue to protest. At least 30 people have died since the vote on Sunday, Guinean media report. The Internet has been shut down last Friday.
