Indigenous communities in Lacub in the Philippines claimed the Mines and Geosciences Bureau and Golden Lake Mineral Resources violated their right after the company’s exploration permit has been renewed without community consultation. The communities alleged that the renewal violates their right to be notified and the principle of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC).

In April, Business and Human Rights Centre attempted to invite Golden Lake Mineral Resources to respond to the allegations, but the company’s contact details could not be found. If the company wishes to provide a response, the page will be updated accordingly.
