Japan: Ricoh to stop transfer to the "kicking out room"

[English summary of Japanese article provided by the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre.] Ricoh has announced that, pursuant to a court ruling against the practice and a subsequent out-of-court settlement, it will revoke the transfer of approximately 100 employees to what has been referred to as the "kicking out room", where employees were given jobs clearly not matching their qualifications or physical abilities, in an attempt to encourage them to resign.
