Letter to Thenamaris Ships Management regarding its ongoing business activities in Russia

...We request an urgent dialogue regarding Thenamaris Ships Management’s ongoing business operations and relationships in Russia that may contribute to, or be linked with, human rights harms.

We acknowledge that Thenamaris has policies in place to guide the company toward ethical behaviour. According to the company’s Sustainability policy, Thenamaris “appl[ies] very strict criteria to help ensure ethical business practices.” The company’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy states that Thenamaris “works closely with thousands of local businesses, such as suppliers and port agents, applying strict principles related to transparency and an ethical way of working.”

Accordingly, we hope that Thenamaris would share its dedication in complying with laws, rules, and regulations with respecting internationally recognised human rights, principles, voluntary and obligatory codes of conduct, the UNGPs, the UN Global Compact, the OECD Guidelines, and the norms of international humanitarian and human rights law...
