Open letter to Chancellor Scholz on CSDDD support

On Friday, February 9th, the debate among the Permanent Representatives of the EU Member States on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) was postponed.

The signing parties of this letter, which include the European Trade Union Confederation with its 93 national trade union organizations and 10 European trade union federations, urge Germany to use this time window to revise its position and support the European Corporate Sustainability Due Diigence.

Germany’s role in championing human rights both domestically and internationally has been emphasized through its implementation of the national Supply Chain Act. However, the announced abstention on the European directive would turn Germany from a pioneer into a laggard.
