Zheleznogorsk court orders compensation from Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant for worker injured in workplace accident, 21 November 2025
The Zheleznogorsk Interdistrict Prosecutor filed a lawsuit seeking compensation for moral damages caused by a workplace accident. The prosecutor stated that in April of the previous year a 45-year-old track maintenance worker employed by JSC Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant named after A.V. Varichev (TIN 4633001577) was injured in an industrial accident that damaged his left hand. The man underwent surgery, received medical treatment, and was assessed as having a 40% loss of professional working capacity and assigned a third-degree disability due to the occupational injury.
The prosecutor requested that the court order JSC Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant named after A.V. Varichev to pay the worker 800,000 rubles in compensation for moral damages.
The Zheleznogorsk City Court partially satisfied the claim, ordering the defendant to pay the injured worker 100,000 rubles in moral damages. The court noted that the main cause of the accident was the worker’s own carelessness, inattention, and haste, and that the company had already paid him more than 209,000 rubles in moral compensation under an agreement reached between the parties.
The court decision has not yet entered into legal force.
