TikTok's response

24 February 2023

At TikTok, we firmly believe that hate and violence have no place on our platform. We do not allow content that contains and promotes hate speech, hateful behavior or violence.

We use a combination of technologies and moderation teams to identify, review and take action against content or accounts that violate our Community Guidelines. In Q3 2022, we removed 653,512 videos in Myanmar for violating our Community Guidelines. Of those videos, we proactively identified and removed 89.8% before receiving any reports from our community, and 95.4% were taken down within 24 hours of being posted.

In addition to enforcing our guidelines, we continue to expand our safety resources for Myanmar. This includes developing educational campaigns and mental health resources in collaboration with local creators, which are amplified on our local Digital Wellness Hub. We are deeply committed to the well-being of our community and will continue to invest significantly in keeping TikTok a safe and welcoming platform in Myanmar.
