USA: Activision Blizzard accused of labour rights violations, discrimination & sexual harassment; incl. co. comment

Video game company Activision Blizzard has faced accusations of sexual misconduct, workplace discrimination, and intimidation and coercive practices in multiple legal challenges. In July 2021, the state of California sued the company for creating an enabling workplace environment for sexual harassment. The Campaign to Organize Digital Employees (CODE-CWA) filed a lawsuit against the company with the National Labor Relations Board alleging that it engaged in intimidation and coercion tactics with employees. Activision Blizzard also agreed to pay $18 million to settle a lawsuit filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Center that accused the company of sexual harassment, retaliating against female employees for complaining about harassment, and paying female employees less than male employees.

In October 2021 Activision Blizzard announced a series of new initiatives to improve workplace culture and diversity including by putting $250 million towards hiring more women, nonbinary individuals, and people from underrepresented communities, adopting a zero-tolerance harassment policy, and reducing the CEO's compensation.
