In April 2025, it was reported that companies selling apparel, such as Amazon and Five Below, were pulling back imports into the US, following the US administration's announcement of global 'reciprocal tariffs', significantly impacting multiple garment-producing countries.

Reports allegedly indicated Amazon had stopped select orders imported from China, while Five Below had reportedly asked vendors to suspend products exiting the country.

In March 2026, Business & Human Rights Centre invited Amazon and Five Below to respond. They did not. The response can be found below.
