Zijin Mining response
Thank you for your email and your continued attention to the operational and ESG practices of Zijin Mining Group.
In response to the related issues concerning our projects in Serbia, we have previously submitted a detailed and comprehensive reply to the Special Rapporteur. The reply fully covers our positions, complete relevant facts, supporting data, credible references and substantial evidence, as well as clarifications on inaccurate and unsubstantiated allegations related to the concerned matters. It also systematically presents the tangible progress and effective achievements we have made in environmental protection, pollution management, community wellbeing improvement and sustainable operational development throughout the project’s implementation. In addition, it also elaborates our future continual improvement plans, striving to present a full, objective and transparent account of the issues in question.
Furthermore, in the same period, we also received an on-site expert group dispatched by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) at Serbia Zijin Copper Doo. During the visit, we conducted candid, constructive and transparent communications with the visiting team, fully presenting our actual operational conditions, environmental governance practices and sustainable development progress.
It is expected that the Special Rapporteur will submit the final summary report in June 2026. We plan to publicly clarify and respond to the relevant involved issues in a comprehensive manner after the official release of the final report.
