South Nyanza Sugar Company 2025 Limited was established in 1979 and is located in South Western Kenya, in Migori County. The Company serves thousands of farmers spread out within the cane growing zones of Migori, Homa Bay, Narok and Kisii counties. 

The company’s management has changed over the years from Mehta Group International at inception in 1979 to Booker Agricultural International (Booker Tate Ltd.) in 1985 before reverting to a wholly Kenyan agency in in March, 2000. In 2025, the Government of Kenya leased out the Company to Busia Sugar Limited. South Nyanza Sugar Company 2025 Limited is therefore a privately owned corporation in Kenya. 

The company contributes significantly to the realization of Vision 2030 through manufacturing of sugar and associated products, with an installed capacity of 3000 TCD. The company continually sustains itself as well as strive to optimize its potential by securing cane availability and supply in addition to strengthening the plant to operate optimally. 

South Nyanza Sugar Company 2025 Limited undertakes its operation with due care of the environment with respect to pollution in accordance to provisions of the Environmental Management and Coordination Act 1999. In addition, the company has in place afforestation and reforestation programs which include supplying tree and fruit seedlings to farmers hence contributing to the conservation of the environment in which it operates. 

The Company acknowledges that the economic and social well-being of the society impacts positively on development and political stability. Therefore, the company executes its economic mandate tempered with social objectives and by extension, contributes significantly to the economic stability and development of the Nation.
