Malaysia: Media reports allege electronics manufacturer press workers to clock overtime beyond limits & subjects them to 'squalid' accommodations

Malaysian manufacturing firm ATA IMS (ATA) faces allegations of labour rights violations including making workers “clock overtime beyond the permitted 104 hours limit” and subjecting them to “squalid accommodations.” Media reports also alleges that the company filed a police complaint against labour rights activist Andy Hall. ATA supplies to British technology company Dyson, which allegedly initiated a legal action against the Sunday Mirror concerning the report detailing the allegations of labour rights violations.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited ATA and Dyson to provide further statements on the allegations in the media reports. Dyson's response is linked below. ATA, on the other hand, did not respond.
