Response by Glencore to DW documentary on Colombia

Thank you for providing Glencore with the opportunity to the respond to the alleged links between paramilitaries and our Colombian subsidiary, Grupo Prodeco (Prodeco) that are raised in the DW documentary, “Asesino a sueldo en Colombia | DW Documental” on 17 de febrero de 2021 .

Prodeco has never had any relationship with groups outside the law, particularly with paramilitaries.

We understand that these allegations arise from the eviction of families from an area of land called El Prado, that borders Prodeco’s Calenturita mine’s concession. Prodeco does not have a legal title to carry out mineral exploitation or any interest in the El Prado land.
