Brazil: Telemarketing operators risk contagion during the COVID-19 pandemic as call centres remain open; includes company responses

Call centers, included among the essential services, have not stopped working during the pandemic, including for commercial activities. Most employees cannot work remotely and risk contagion. As reported, the uncertainties and fear of dismissal oblige them to work even with Covid-19 symptoms.

The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited Atento, Liq, NeoBPO, Speedmais and Teleperformance to respond to these allegations; their responses can be found below. Only Liq did not respond.

For more information about the allegations and some of the company responses in Portuguese, see our website.
