Mexico: The National Guard destroys protest camp of opponents to the construction of the Morelos Integral Project

Red TdT

On Monday morning, November 23rd, 2020, members of the National Guard evacuated the ejidatarios (community landholders) who had been living on the banks of the Cuautla River since 2016, in order to prevent them from completing the construction of the Morelos Integrated Project (PIM) aqueduct.

17 ejidos and communities that are in the process of defending their communities against the construction of the Morelos Integral Project (PIM) have filed a request for precautionary measures with the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
