Mexico: Road accident kills 14 BerryMex farm workers transported by Ruza Transportes SA de CV

On 19 May 2022, a truck belonging to the company Ruza Transportes SA de CV was involved in an accident while transporting migrant farm workers on their way to Jilotepec to work in a berry field belonging to the BerryMex company. In the accident, 14 people died and 19 were injured.

The BHRRC invited BerryMex and Ruza Transportes SA de CV to respond to the accusations of failing to address complaints of mechanical failures of the vehicle transporting people, as well as failing to provide information on compensation for minors left without a mother or father as a result of the accident.

BerryMex's response is available, but Ruza Transportes SA de CV did not answer.
