NLRB responds to complaints [USA]

The National Labor Relations Board will pursue in federal court allegations that Sodexo and Tulane University violated U.S. labor law…The complaints include allegations that Sodexo spied on pro-union workers, fired an employee in retaliation for union activity, threatened pro-union workers with termination, used Tulane police to expel union organizers from campus and used TUPD as its agent to interrogate employees regarding union activity…Jennifer Hart of Sodexo Public Relations said that the company was looking into the complaints. “I can’t underscore enough that Sodexo takes matters like these very seriously,” Hart said. “At this point we are still working to understand the NLRB’s stance.” SEIU [Service Employees International Union] organizer Rob Harmon said he hopes the court’s findings will serve as a catalyst for the university to end its contract with Sodexo.
