A federal agency has set a Sept. 12 trial date in a case involving allegations that food services giant Sodexo...violated federal labor law at Tulane and Loyola universities in New Orleans. Sodexo runs cafeterias at the universities. The National Labor Relations Board filed a complaint against Sodexo and set the trial based on complaints filed by members of the Service Employees International Union officials...The charges accuse Sodexo of restricting employees from talking about union activities, spying on employees, selectively enforcing work rules to discourage union activity and threatening to fire workers for union activity…[T]he charges state, an employee was terminated for union activity. Also, the complaint said, Sodexo used campus police at times to interfere with union activities. Remedies outlined in the NLRB complaint include reinstating the fired employee.
