...Citi respects individuals’ right to freedom of speech and peaceful protest. At the same time, our priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of our people and members of the public. We attempted, on numerous occasions, to engage in thoughtful, constructive dialogue with protest organizers to explain Citi’s position and role in the energy transition...

Our plaza is Privately Owned Public Space, and we are proud of the role it plays in our community....

While the space is open to the public, when the police observe conduct they believe violates the law, they determine if law enforcement action is appropriate. Those decisions, including whether and how to respond to observed unlawful activity, are made by the police and the judicial system. Citi does not determine whether or how the police enforce the law or what charges, if any, may be filed by the police with the judicial system...
