The Post reports that earlier in this decade Chiquita, the banana producer, paid protection money to the AUC, Colombia’s murderous paramilitary group, ostensibly because, in Chiquita’s view, that was the only way it could continue to do business in the country....[S]hould the perceived requirements for doing business in a country ever justify payments to a group that routinely executes civilians?
