Nordgold second response

We are surprised by the suggestion that we have failed to react to Fastenopfer’s letters since we have been in continuous email dialogue with one of its representatives over their queries in recent months – our last exchange was in November 2015. At no point were these letters mentioned or any suggestion made that we had failed to react. You have received our full and frank response to Fastenopfer’s report. We maintain our position that the report is very negligent in many respects as it does not mention the broader efforts made by Nordgold via its social programmes in local communities. It instead relies on often inaccurate or misleading evidence. At all times the relocation processes undertaken by Nordgold were done in line with existing best practice and were successful for all involved. We have and always will be happy to respond to questions from Fastenopfer.
