Map of companies evaluated in Ranking Digital Rights' 2019 Corporate Accountability Index

Ranking Digital Rights evaluates information and communications technology (ICTs) companies on their respect for freedom of expression and privacy.

"Ranking Digital Rights (RDR) works to promote freedom of expression and privacy on the internet by creating global standards and incentives for companies to respect and protect users’ rights.
"We do this by ranking the world’s most powerful internet, mobile, and telecommunications companies on relevant commitments and policies, based on international human rights standards. We work with companies as well as advocates, researchers, investors, and policymakers to establish and advance global standards for corporate accountability.
"The 2019 RDR Corporate Accountability Index, released in May 2019, ranked 24 companies on their disclosed commitments, policies, and practices affecting the freedom of expression and privacy of internet users across the world."

Since 2015, RDR has published various reports and an annual Corporate Accountability Index. RDR, Access Now, and Business & Human Rights Resource Centre have used these material to engage with ICT companies on improving their policies and practices to safeguard digital rights. Our coverage of key publications and company engagement is collected here:
