Shantanu Muluk, a member of several Green Justice reading groups, is one of the three environmental and climate change activists accused by the Delhi Police of collaborating with the 'Khalistani organization' in bringing a 'toolkit' over farmers' protest over agricultural reforms. Mr Muluk, along with climate activist Disha Ravi and Nikita Jacob, was charged for alleged sedition and other charges. The police alleged that the three had created the online document on Google and passed it on to others for editing. The so-called "toolkit", which suggested ways of helping the farmers, was tweeted by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg. Google has been criticised for complying with the government's request to share data on their users, which led to the arrest of the activists. Delhi police said they had written to Google and other technology companies in February, seeking user information and activity logs associated with creating and sharing the toolkit. The police said they are also seeking information from the video conferencing application Zoom about those who attended a meeting about preparing the toolkit, and from WhatsApp about a group created to support farmers protests.
