Brands profit 'as garment workers struggle'

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre... has contrasted the profits recorded by fashion brands during the pandemic with their treatment of the garment workers who make their clothes.

It comes after the charity invited 50 leading fashion companies to respond to a survey on the actions they had taken to protect supply chain workers during the crisis.

Of the 34 brands and retailers to respond, the vast majority - 29 - had recorded profits since the onset of the pandemic. Of these, nine had still not committed to pay for all orders placed before the crisis while another 10 declined to answer the question...
