"Walmart, US Biggest Exporter of Garment Product Enjoys Cambodia's Stability"

In a letter..., Executive Vice President Scott Price said...Cambodia is a key sourcing market for Walmart. We are Cambodia's leading exporter of footwear, and second leading exporter of apparel. Next year, we hope to begin to export travel products. "We are happy to share our experience working with other sourcing markets and to help Cambodian manufacturers increase competitiveness, productivity and efficiency... Our growth in Cambodia depends on a strong business environment. Stability, predictability and rule of law form a cornerstone of our business engagement around the world and allow us to make long-term commitments and investments in a market... In addition, our customers hold us to a high standard and pay attention to the social and labour conditions in the countries from which we source products. As we are held to this high standard, we respectfully ask that your government continue to improve working conditions for Cambodian factory workers and treat our government and civil society with fairness, in accordance with international standards and norms. Also, we value your work in protecting and providing rights for Cambodians who chose to work abroad."
