Around 20 factory workers are still hunger striking while effective pay cuts and unpaid salaries continue, despite a government order that employers must implement the new minimum wage across all sectors…Han Jen factory manager Ko Phyu Htwe said the workers participating in the hunger strike outside the factory were given the salary on October 7. “We won’t pay for the dates they didn’t work,” he said…The labour ministry has said nearly every factory was hit with wage disputes following the first pay day on October 1…[Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Han Jen to respond; it did not do so.]
