Nepal: Two survivors rescued from Trishuli 3A hydropower project tunnel after flash flood disaster

Nine days after the Bhotekoshi flash flood disaster, two men, Kabir Maharjan (45) and Sanjay Sah (30), were rescued alive from a tunnel at the Trishuli 3A hydropower project. The Nepal Army-led security command, using specialized equipment, intensified their search and rescue operation after hearing voices from inside the tunnel. The death toll in Nepal due to the flash floods, triggered by an ice-rock avalanche near the Nepal-Tibet border on August 26, has risen to 1,282, with bodies recovered across multiple districts, including Chitwan, Nawalparasi East, Nawalparasi West, Nuwakot, Gorkha, Dhading, Rasuwa, and Tanahu.
