India shipbreaker says decision to return warship to France will cost jobs

French President Jacques Chirac's decision to order the asbestos-lined warship Clemenceau back to France was a 'big blow' that could cost thousands of jobs for the Indian shipbreaking industry...said...Girish Luthra, chairman of Gujarat Enviro Protection and Infrastructure, whose company was due to remove the toxic materials from the vessel...'This particular ship could have given 300 to 400 workers jobs. Overall I am sure this would have given work to 5,000 to 10,000 people,' he told Agence France-Presse.
