Located in Magharini, Kilifi county, the company has brought about devastating effects to it neighboring community ranging from land grabbing, health impacts to its workers and arbitrary arrests of innocent civillians. Mr Joel Ogada happened to fall victim to their corruptive quest when he was evicted from his land and convicted to 7 years in prison for alleged arson attacks. He was arrested on 17th February 2013. After intervention from the Civil Society, his sentence was reduced to 2 years on appeal. Towards the end of 2013, he was again detained on the account of allegedly taking land belonging to the company CJGEA managed to step in and relocated Mr. Joel Ogada and his family.
