New Look's response to allegations of abuses in Myanmar garment factories - February 2024 Update

[...]

Tristate Myanmar

This factory has not been a part of the New Look supply base since 2016 and therefore we have no current relationship to this site nor were we affiliated with this factory at the time of the alleged dismissal.

Sam Clothing

New Look production up until May 2023 (when orders ceased) was carried out in the main manufacturing unit, SAM CLOTHING (MYANMAR) CO. LTD (Plot No. (2,3) Myay Taing Block No.112, East Dagon Myo Thit Industrial Zone, Yangon). The production of New Look garments was not outsourced or subcontracted to other factories by Sam Clothing up to May 2023. Following an investigation with our supplier, it has been advised that these allegations are specific to another brand and are unrelated to New Look.

Hong Tex

Hong Tex was an active production site for New Look up until the end of August 2023. Following these allegations, our supplier and representative visited the factory to investigate in person on 23 January 2024 and concluded that the social media claims were unfounded. The allegations had been investigated by the Labour Department which did not find any fault on the part of the factory.
