No Partner Benefits? Should FedEx Get Kicked Off Diversity Lists?

For the second time in two years, FedEx's lack of same-sex domestic-partner benefits has caused ripples in major national lists evaluating workplace inclusiveness. The first instance was The 2007 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list. The more recent one was Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For. In both cases, the publications misunderstood FedEx's policy on domestic-partner health benefits for employees in same-sex relationships. In DiversityInc's case, FedEx was removed from the DiversityInc Top 50 list after the error was noticed. However, in the case of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For list, released in January, Fortune did not change its list after being told of the error by the Human Rights Campaign...
