Mining company MMG reported in a statement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it reached an agreement with the community of Coyabamba, in the province of Paruro, to use an alternative route that will allow it to re-establish the logistics of its supply.

"Production has not been affected and the company is working with the communities of Tuntuma and Huincho to resolve the remaining blockades," Li Liangang, MMG's interim CEO, said in a statement late Monday.

MMG said on Friday that it was forced to begin a progressive reduction of operations at Las Bambas in the face of road blockades on the roads that make up the South Road Corridor. The protests came in the face of community demands for additional benefits in the area, "as well as issues unrelated to the Las Bambas operation", according to the mining company.

In a statement last week, Las Bambas noted that it was forced to begin scaling down its operations from Monday 31 October. "These blockades and threats are due to over-expectations for the benefit of some communities, and other reasons unrelated to Las Bambas and its activities," the company added.
