Samsung: labour challenge [So. Korea]

Four employees at theme park operator Samsung Everland, the group’s de facto holding company, have formed the first pan-Samsung union, challenging the group’s policy of not allowing labour unions...Samsung is now the world’s largest technology company by sales...But labour advocates have complained about the company’s policy of not allowing labour unions’ activities, saying that the policy goes against global standards...Samsung said in a statement that its priority “has always been and will continue to be meeting our employees’ needs and expectations and providing the best working environment for them.
