Women win age case against Virgin [Australia]

Virgin Blue remained defiant over its hiring policies yesterday after a tribunal [Queensland Anti-Discrimination Commission] found the no-frills airline had discriminated against eight former Ansett flight attendants because of their age...The former Ansett attendants, who were aged between 36 and 56 when they applied for cabin-crew jobs with Richard Branson's Virgin Blue between 2000 and 2002, complained they were rejected in favour of younger applicants. However, the airline rejected the finding and said it was considering an appeal.
