Response from BHP to Oxfam's open letter

... "BHP is proud to have been an inaugural supporter of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and is currently represented on the EITI Board. BHP takes seriously its responsibility to the EITI Company Expectations and was pleased that BHP was found to be meeting all EITI Company Expectations in the inaugural 2021 EITI Assessment of supporting company adherence to the Company Expectations.

As your letter notes, an EITI Board review of the EITI Company Expectations is currently underway with the objective to clarify and enhance the Company Expectations. BHP is supportive of clarifying and enhancing the Company Expectations, and, as such is actively involved in the Review process which is being conducted through good faith negotiation under the auspices of normal EITI multi-stakeholder governance processes. ..."
