Lucas Santos de Oliveira, known as Lucas Kariri-Sapuyá, chief of a Pataxó Hã-Hã-Hãe village, was shot dead on the Pau Brasil road, in the municipality of Itajú do Colônia, in southern Bahia. In a statement published on social media, representatives of the Caramuru Catarina Paraguaçu village said that the victim was ambushed by two gunmen at the entrance to the Rio Pardo village, near the Caramuru village.
