Project Manager

We’re looking for an exceptional individual to project manage our Net-Zero 2050 Initiative which seeks to accelerate the transition to an equitable, net-zero emissions global economy by 2050.

About the role:

This role will include helping The B Team companies to lead by example and to use their collective voice; growing the movement of CEOs driving bold climate action; and creating systemic change in key areas that the world needs to progress in 2015 and beyond. Key areas of focus will include carbon pricing, ending fossil fuel subsidies, ending deforestation and scaling renewable energy

Providing close support and reporting to the Net-Zero 2050 Initiative Director, your contribution will help to ensure seamless execution of the initiative strategy including development of a responsive operational plan, timeline and tracking mechanisms.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Stakeholder mapping, analysis and management across the global field of climate change
  • Plan and lead execution of stakeholder convenings and other events across a wide variety of scale, geography and complexity.
  • Provide regular written and verbal team briefings and coordinate weekly project team meetings.
  • Track the status of deliverables of each team member across the project, ensuring all deadlines are met and providing regular progress reports.
  • Help coordinate team logistics.

Key Skills/Attributes will include:

  • Exceptional problem-solving ability and aptitude for task execution.
  • Extensive experience and enthusiasm for developing and using project and time management tools and systems – that will ideally accommodate stakeholders at varied levels of engagement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to turn big ideas into actionable plans quickly and with precision.
  • Extensive experience using project management expertise to support creative and strategic processes that result in impactful outcomes.

Ideally you will have:

  • 3+ years experience in business, finance or civil society
  • An eye for detail.
  • A genuine passion for overcoming complex problems by breaking down the solutions into actionable steps.
  • Experience managing passionate multi-stakeholder teams, and complex events; both to tight timelines and budgets.
  • A naturally collaborative approach to problem solving and a commitment to finding the best available answer.

Senior Research Analyst

We’re looking for an exceptional individual to lead research for our Net-Zero 2050 Initiative which seeks to accelerate the transition to an equitable, net-zero emissions global economy by 2050.

About the role:

This role will include helping The B Team companies to lead by example and to use their collective voice; growing the movement of CEOs driving bold climate action; and creating systemic change in key areas that the world needs to progress in 2015 and beyond. Key areas of focus will include carbon pricing, ending fossil fuel subsidies, ending deforestation and scaling renewable energy

Working closely with and reporting to the Net-Zero 2050 Initiative Director, your contribution will play a critical role in ensuring The B Team’s approach is responsive and relevant to the evolving issues related to tackling climate change. You will receive additional guidance from the Managing Director and Senior Advisors., and you will work closely with The B Team Leaders, our Executive Leadership Team and our partners in theWe Mean Business coalition.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct and summarize literature reviews and secondary research.
  • Present and clearly communicate key insights and actively support the strategic development of the Net-Zero 2050 Initiative.
  • Partner with experts and a diverse group of stakeholders to produce concise, insightful briefings that enable the Net-Zero Initiative team to ensure the plan is responsive and relevant to the evolving issues related to tackling climate change.

Key Skills / Attributes will include:

  • Exceptional analytical, written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, interpret and summarize key insights from vast and complex data, from a wide variety of sources, at speed when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate without jargon to high-level business stakeholders.
  • A commitment to undertaking science-based, organized, systemic research and analysis.

Ideally you will have:

  • 5-10+ years experience in research, preferably in climate change, environmental science and / or finance
  • A track record collaborating on projects focused on sustainability, climate change and/or energy systems, with quantifiable outcomes
  • Strong analysis and communication skills and proven ability to ensure your outputs can support tangible business decision making
  • Significant research experience in both private sector and civil society or government

Director

We’re looking for an exceptional individual to direct our Net-Zero 2050 Initiative which seeks to accelerate the transition to an equitable, net-zero emissions global economy by 2050.

About the role:

This role will include helping The B Team companies to lead by example and to use their collective voice; growing the movement of CEOs driving bold climate action; and creating systemic change in key areas that the world needs to progress in 2015 and beyond. Key areas of focus will include carbon pricing, ending fossil fuel subsidies, ending deforestation and scaling renewable energy.

You will work closely with The B Team Leaders, our Executive Leadership Team and our partners in the We Mean Business coalition.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a multi-stakeholder process to develop and execute the Net-Zero 2050 strategy
  • Recruit, lead and manage the project team.
  • Collaborate closely with the communications team to facilitate CEO-level discussions, oversee high-level events and leverage strategic communications opportunities.
  • Maintain transparency and adherence to the highest principles of good governance, planning and management, including regular financial and impact reporting to the Managing Director and Director of Strategy & Operations.

Key Skills/Attributes will include:

  • Excellent strategic planning, project management, problem solving, and time management; including managing staff and diverse stakeholders,
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a self-starting attitude, combined with a proven track record in delivering tangible results.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in addressing environmental challenges, combined with a deep understanding of how change happens in business.
  • The ability to plan for the long term and maintain flawless delivery to deadlines.

Ideally you will have:

  • 10-20+ years experience in business and/or finance, with a significant portion spent on environmental issues. You are familiar with, and passionate about, the multi-dimensional issue of equitably tackling climate change and ensuring development of sustainable economies
  • Led complex teams and worked with multiple stakeholders to achieve positive and transformative outcomes.

The ability to see the big picture and take a methodical approach to driving toward systemic outcomes while maintaining an eye for detail.
